Our economy is powered by the contributions of the small business community including the Minnesota Africans immigrant community - the bold who see a new way of building - the dreamers who see the world as it could be and want to do more for themselves, their family, and their community to improve lives.

Making your dream come true of starting and scaling your new business takes a lot of planning and personal effort. In this powerful five-week series provided by experienced thought leaders, you'll learn how to:

  • Build Habits of a Successful Entrepreneur
  • How to Set up & Register Your Business
  • Develop a Marketing Strategy
  • Developing your Business Operations
  • Understand Business Financials

Each participant gains access to all the Minnesota African United and SCORE resources used in this series along with the full complement of SCORE business development tools and templates to make starting your business as efficient as possible. 

You'll also have experienced Minnesota Africans United and SCORE mentors on hand who are prepared to help you realize your dream of entrepreneurship! As a part of joining this training program you'll be eligible to meet with a mentor to receive mentoring to help you define your goals, create action plans, and get encouragement and advice during your entrepreneurship journey. You will also be eligible to receive technical assistance from mentors through provision of information, tools, resources and personalized technical guidance as it directly relates to starting or growing your business.

  • Wednesday, Sept 18, 5-7pm – Session 2: Continuing the Business Plan: Marketing
  • Wednesday, Sept 25, 5-7pm – Session 3: Developing Business Operations
  • Wednesday, Oct 2, 5-7pm – Session 4: QuickBooks and Financial Statements
  • Wednesday, Oct 9, 5-7pm – Session 5: Financial Plan and Modeling
  • Graduation on Oct 17, 5-7:30pm will be celebrated with the MAU Team
