Education, Training & Emerging Leader Committee

This committee is focused on closing the education gap, career development and training, and cultivating and developing leaders within the African community.

Unity & Traditions Committee

This committee is focused on bringing the separate cultures from Africa together to speak with one voice and to preserve the cultural traditions to ensure that they are passed onto the next generation.

Wealth Creation & Small Business Committee

This committee is focused on providing small business development opportunities, investments and planning for the future.

Gabriel Mba, Cameroon (Chair)

Public Health Committee

This committee is focused on the health and welfare of the African community.

Kumba Kanu, Sierra Leone (Chair)

Immigration, Housing and Civic & Political Engagement Committee

This committee is focused on strengthening the voice of the African community to ensure a more visible voice in advocating for policy change, immigration reform, and equity in housing.

Naiima Dhore, Somalia (Chair)

Fundraising, Leveraging Resources, Accounts, Membership and Events Committee

This committee is focused on leveraging resources to improve Minnesota as a whole, finding fundraising opportunities, build membership, accounts management, events and activities planning.

Dr. Julia Ugorji, Nigeria (Chair)

Networking and Employment Opportunities Committee

This committee is focused on networking with external partners and identifying employment, leadership, and practicum opportunities for African immigrants.

Girma Hassen, Ethiopia (Chair)

Public Relations Committee

This committee is focused on creating visibility for African immigrants, sharing information between the different ethnic African communities, and assuring that the African community voices are being heard within the broader community.
